The TUG engine has been constructed in a modular fashion so that it can be easily adapted for a wide variety of subjects. We have a set range of modules which can be placed within the 'maze' to create customised courses. THE MAIN ENGINE The main games engine is a combination of lsl(linden scripting language) and php/mysql which peforms the following functions - Records names of participants - Records results and stastics including questions answered correctly, time taken, module type, difficulty etc. - All modules communicate with the main engine. MODULES By using modules we can arrange courses to suit a wide variety of learning outcomes. 1 - Multiple choice - Text - to open door (eg. maze) 2 - Multiple choice - Image - to open door 3 - Multiple choice - 3d/holographic - to open door 4 - Multiple choice - Text - to receive item (eg. rewards) 5 - Multiple choice - Image - to receive item 6 - Multiple choice - 3d/holographic - to receive item 7 - Multiple choice - Text - to rez item (eg. vehicles, ladders) 8 - Multiple choice - Image - to rez item 9 - Multiple choice - 3d/holographic - to rez item 10 - Wear to enter - Students must wear a specific item (eg hardhat) in order to enter the next room 11 - Moddable video room - Teachers can change the videos shown in various rooms - youtube 12 - Forms - allows for written responses (eg risk assessments) WEB INTERFACE Real time high scores table and statistics Web login and control panel allowing teachers/facilitators to update quiz questions as well as control the virtual space
